Level 1 Award in Sake

Engaging all your senses, Level 1 will introduce you to the key sake categories and production methods. Designed in an interactive manner, students will dive into the world of sake through hands on guidance and instructions in an intimate class setting. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin. Level 1 is open to anyone interested to learn more about sake and no prior sake knowledge is required.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Anyone can participate! There are no entry requirements for this qualification. You must be of legal drinking age to participate in any alcohol tasting.

STUDY FORMAT

WSET Level 1 Award in Sake consists of 6 hours of training by a WSET® certified educator. The course lasts one day, from 9 am to 5 pm, including a lunch break, study time and the exam. Sessions are limited to 12 students.

ASSESMENT

The exam takes place in the last session of the course and consists of 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in 45 minutes. To pass you must correctly answer 70% of the questions. You will receive your results by email in about 8-10 weeks after your exam date. Your certificate and pin will be mailed to you shortly after.
